Buffalo Chicken Turnover Appetizers
If you can’t tell by now, we love creamy buffalo chicken in this house… Whatever we are turning it into- appetizers or main course, the idea gets used A LOT! We especially love the Buffalo Chicken Taquitos and Buffalo Chicken Dip.
These Buffalo Chicken Turnover Appetizer Puffs are A-MAZING! Seriously, the melt in your mouth, packed with flavor kind of good. The puff pastry adds such a nice texture to the filling and makes them super easy to whip up. These disappeared for the table so quickly when I made them. People couldn’t keep there hands off of them! If you need an appetizer that is a total crowd pleaser and that doesn’t require much work on your part, this is your recipe!
- 8 oz. softened cream cheese
- 1 cup chopped chicken
- 3 to 4 Tablespoons Franks Buffalo Sauce
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 box thawed puff pastry
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Combine cream cheese, chicken, buffalo sauce and cheddar cheese in a small mixing bowl. Unfold both pastry doughs and cut each into nine squares. Place 1-2 teaspoons of chicken mixture onto each square and fold two opposite corners of the dough over to make a triangle. Seal the sides with a fork or with your thumb.
- Place on a spayed cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees F.
Enjoy!

Puff pastry is something I always have on hand - so versatile! Love how you used it with these! I've never made savory turnovers, only sweet :) I need to be like you!

I could seriously eat buffalo chicken ANYTHING like it’s my full time job. And puff pastry too. Which makes this a pretty epic recipe for me!! Pinning this to my obsessed-with-buffalo-sauce board! :)

There can never be enough variations of buffalo chicken in my opinion. I think I might try putting a little blue cheese in mine too. Yum!

Made with a cup of shredded chicken (instead of chopped) and added a large finely diced carrot and 3 stalks of finely diced celery that had been sauteed. (I believe everything needs more veggies.) I also added a couple splashes of chicken broth made with onions and garlic to moisten the chicken some. Used a triple recipe of pie crust (enough for three 9-inch pie crusts) and made 9 turn-overs {individually rolled} (instead of the puff pastry and mini turnovers). The first four I made with the filling before adding the Buffalo sauce (for my kids) and the next four I made with the Buffalo sauce. I had a half recipe of the filling by then and used 4 tsps Buffalo sauce for our taste. It had a nice flavor and bite, but wasn't so hot that it made me cry or not want to eat more. The last pie crust didn't have enough filling for it, so I made an apple pie filling for it and made my husband very happy. After forming the turnovers, I poked a hole in the top for venting and brushed an egg wash over them. Everyone loved their turnovers. The crust was perfectly flaky and the spice levels were great for each group. The only problem with the recipe is that it doesn't make enough!
